Schron Jackson is a Public Information Manager, for the Metropolitan Police Department, City of St. Louis, MO. She will be here on campus Thursday March 29th from 3-5pm speaking to our community about using
social media to communicate with stakeholders.
Schron Jackson is a driven and accomplished results-oriented public relations professional and Emmy Award nominated producer with 28 years of experience within diverse media environments. Her background spans managing all facets of crisis communications, media relations, public relations, brand management,
project management, social media and special events planning. Prior to joining the police department, Mrs. Jackson served as Contact 2 Coordinator at FOX 2 News.
Mrs. Jackson, later joined the Public Information Division at the Metropolitan Police Department, City of St. Louis in July of 1999. As Public Information
Manager, she oversees drive and manages all internal and external communication for the police department. She is responsible for crisis communications, media relations, public relations and management of the police department’s brand. Mrs. Jackson also provides leadership and public relations guidance to the Police Chief, Senior Commanders and others who interact with the public.
Along with Ms. Jackson, she will be inviting Mr. John Hayden, a Police Commissioner, for the Metropolitan
Police Department, City of St. Louis, MO, as a special guest at the session. Colonel John W. Hayden, Jr. joined the Metropolitan Police Department – City of St. Louis on February 23, 1987. He was appointed Police Commissioner on December 28, 2017. He is St. Louis City’s 35th Chief of Police.
Colonel Hayden manages the second largest police department in the State of Missouri with an authorized strength of more than 1,300 sworn officers and over 400 civilian employees. Colonel Hayden is responsible for overseeing an annual budget of $170 million, a third of the city’s budget. Colonel Hayden’s 30-year career is well balanced with 15 years of investigative experience and 15 years of administrative assignments.
He served as a Commander in the North Patrol Division from 2013 through 2017. In that capacity, Colonel Hayden oversaw more than 1200 investigations of employee misconduct. Throughout his career, he has been passionate about the pursuit of excellence in policing and joins Ms. Jackson to speak on the use of social media and stakeholders.
