Current Students:
For a more accurate list of opportunities you may be eligible for, click the red “Sign In” button on this page to begin your General Application. You must have an SIUE username and password to be able to sign in and begin the application process. Once you complete your General Application, the system will automatch it with all scholarships in which you meet the criteria. Meeting the qualification criteria means you will be entered into the pool of applicants for a particular scholarship. It does not guarantee you will receive a scholarship.

The Bob Hardy Scholarship

This scholarship covers two semesters of tuition at the in-state tuition rate. Mass Communications majors whose career objective is journalism are eligible. After the first two-semester scholarship, the current recipient can re-apply. To qualify, your current overall grade point average must be at least 3.0, be registered as a full-time and not have more than 80 credit hours earned at the beginning of the semester that the scholarship takes effect. Submit application online, which includes an essay of no more than 500 words on “Integrity in Journalism,” at no later than: FEBRUARY 10, 2017

The Robert L. Emig Scholarship

The Robert L. Emig Scholarship covers $2,500 per semester for two semesters. You must be a junior or senior Mass Communications major with at least a 3.0 overall GPA. To apply, submit a cover letter that includes your career ambitions and your involvement in student and professional organizations. Also submit a resume and samples of some of the best work you’ve done in Mass Communications courses, student publications and/or in professional Mass Communications. Applicants may follow senior portfolio instructions as a guide to prepare and present these samples. Submit cover letter, resume and samples online at before the end-of-business: FEBRUARY 10, 2017

Buezetta Meyer & Charlot Hentz Schlorarship

A maximum annual scholarship award of $5,000 per student shall be given during the recipient’s 4-year course of study, or for 5 years if the field of study is a 5-year or greater program. This scholarship maybe used for tuition or applied educational costs. Recipient must be resident of Macoupin County or Madison County in Illinois demonstrating financial need. Preference will be given to students majoring in communications or any of its branches, who carry 12 credit hours or more per semester. Student must maintain a 3.4 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale. Recipient will be chosen by a committee assigned by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Apply online at no later than: FEBRUARY 10, 2017
