Versatile editor sought for continuous news desk

The Belleville News-Democrat and bnd.com are looking for an energetic editor to join our continuous news desk. CND editors are responsible for production of our newspaper and digital products, as well as handling social media.
Key qualifications include strong news judgment, editing and design ability, headline-writing and SEO skills and an understanding of how to use Twitter and Facebook to promote our content. The successful candidate must perform well under pressure and be willing to work evenings and weekends. Knowledge of newspaper page design preferred; experience with Hype, Google Maps and Google Timelines is a plus, but not required. Recent journalism school grads are welcome to apply.
The BND is an award-winning McClatchy newsroom recognized for its watchdog journalism and other enterprise work, big and small. We are located in southwestern Illinois, near St. Louis.
