Students work on display at Indie Film Fest

Cory Byers, an instructor in SIUE’s Department of Mass Communications and graduate Ashley Seering collaborated with SIUE students and alumni to produce three short films and one documentary. The films will be showcased at the MX Independent Film Festival at the MX theater in St. Louis Sept. 26-Oct.4.

“People of Variety,” is an unofficial 48-hour film produced in Byers’ MC 333 and MC 433 classes from the Spring 2014 semester. “Down the Donut Hole,” is an official 48-hour film was constructed this past summer by current and former SIUE mass communications students. “Forever Friends” also an official 48-hour Film produced in the summer of 2013 with current and former Mass Comm students.

Finally, “Everything Will Be Forgotten,” is a short documentary co-produced by Byers and Seering in the summer of 2013. MX Movies is located at 618 Washington Ave., 2nd floor, St. Louis, Mo. 63101.
